Bonnie addresses 10 fun,
thought-provoking questions on body image for Andrew Oye.

1. What two words best describe your
build/physique/figure? Why?
- Tall & Skinny. I work very hard for the
smallest bump of a muscle. I have long limbs so I don’t gain muscle very
easily – but at least I’m not a string bean anymore like I was growing
up. I finally have some curves. ☺
- 2. What part of
your body deserves to be honored in the “Physique Hall of Fame?” Why?
- I don’t think any of my body parts would
get any honors unless it was a contest for the longest legs – then maybe
I’d get some recognition. My husband seems to still be amazed at the
length of my femurs!
- 3. When did you
first realize your body was sexy, appealing or exemplary?
- The one thing I grew up hating was my
height and my long, lanky legs. It wasn’t until college that I finally
began to be OK with my body – and I still was insecure. At least by that
time, guys finally caught up to me and I wasn’t taller than half my
class.
- 4. In the quiet
moment before you begin a workout, what’s the first thing that goes
through your mind? And what is the last thing that goes through your
mind as you conclude a workout?
- The first thing I say to myself is,
“Gosh, I really don’t feel like working out.” The last thing I say
(which I normally say out loud to my partner) is, “Yay! We’re done!” Not
everyone loves working out, but they can love the results of working
out. That’s me. I don’t really love working out, but I love the way it
makes me feel and look. That’s what keeps me going....

What is your daily eating routine?
Basically I eat the same stuff everyday. I eat
either oatmeal, protein shake or yogurt with a
sprinkle of granola for breakfast. I have
leftovers, which is normally rice or sweet
potato and a meat or NutriSystem for lunch (NutriSystem
sponsored my husband’s TV show so we have it
coming out of our ears and it’s really good and
high in protein). I snack on almonds, protein
bars, protein shakes, yogurt, fruit or ostrich
jerky (from the nutrition store) between meals.
For dinner I either cook a green vegetable and
grill a lean meat or I make one of my famous
salads. My husband and I love salads. My
favorite late night snack is 100 calorie popcorn
with spray butter on it!

What does a typical day for you look like?
My alarm goes off at 6:50am. I’m not a early
riser...

VERO BEACH, FL - Small town
health clubs, Longevity Fitness Club & Spa and Longevity Max, grab the
spotlight in leading health, racquet and sports club industry news
publication, Club Insider. Club Insider spent a day in Vero Beach
interviewing Steve and Bonnie Pfiester, visiting both their health clubs.
The publication will be in print and distributed to over 10,000 club owners,
operators and industry leaders worldwide on Monday, June 15th.
The story, entitled ‘The Dynamic Duo behind Longevity Fitness’ includes an
in-depth and personal interview of the Pfiesters and their passion for the
health club industry. “Combining Fun and the power of Relationships, they
are changing lives every day, and that is what our industry is all about,”
says Justin Cates of Club Insider.
“We want to encourage businesses to get more involved in their communities
and for health club owners to connect personally with their members. Health
clubs are not like gas stations – they are personal and require personal
contact and relationships”, says Bonnie Pfiester, co-owner of Longevity
Clubs. “In this economy, consumers should get better service than ever.
Old-business ‘mom and pop’ principles are refreshing and appreciated in a
day where computers and impersonal contacts are so prevalent.”
“With this story, my only hope is that I can successfully convey the vigor,
conviction and love the Pfiester’s have for helping the people of their
community live better lives, and with their two, mid-size facilities…they
are doing just that.” Jusin Cates.
